Substance Abuse and Lead Poisoning

Substance Abuse and Lead Poisoning

We’re partnering with the Washington Poison Center to raise awareness surrounding substance abuse and resources teens can access if they or a friend are struggling. In addition, we’re working with King County Public Health to provide resources to families on steps they can take to protect themselves from lead poisoning.

Teens are faced with ever-changing and unique stressors to cope with. In these video clips, our panel with Worth A Shot and the Washington Poison Center acknowledges these stressors and explores resources that are available for any teen who wants support. It is not our place to judge or stigmatize, but simply to do our best to meet folks where they are. We want people of all ages to feel comfortable and enabled to ask for help.

These discussions are a collaboration between Worth a Shot, UW Medicine, Teen Link, and the Washington Poison Center HERE

Resources for Families at Health Fairs

At our biannual health fairs, we work with the Washington Poison Center to educate families about steps they can take to protect themselves and their children from lead poisoning and accidental exposure to chemicals commonly found in household products.
